There’s a chill in the air, the leaves have fallen, and the nights are long and dark; winter is here.
How do your pupils spend their winter days? Perhaps waiting for the snow to go sledding, or all cozy in front of the fire with a yummy hot chocolate. Will they be eagerly awaiting Santa on Christmas Eve? What is their New Year’s resolution? Perhaps nature in winter will inspire their poem... For many, winter is a time for family, friends, and kindness as well as exchanging gifts and parties!
Whether your students love or dislike winter we would love to know, we can't wait to read their poems...
Poems can be written or typed, and there is no line or word limit - your students can let creativity and expression flow! Once their poems are ready, email, or upload their work to us.
Your students poems could be published in a special Winter Wonderland poetry book. Plus, our favorite poet will also win a prize!

- Only one entry per child. Schools can enter as many entries as they like.
- Open to both schools & independent entrants.
- Poems can be typed in Word, etc or written on sheet of paper.
- The child's name & age must be included with their poem along with the school's name and address.
- The poem must be the child's own original work.
- Poems can be in any poetic form/style.
- Free to enter.
